Students in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program at Piri Reis University are required to complete a total of 40 working days of internship, divided into two different groups, during their undergraduate studies. The duration and content of the internships are determined by the Faculty of Engineering Internship Directive. Our students undertake internships in various units of national and international companies across almost all sectors.
Group I Internship: In this internship, students are expected to observe and gain experience in workshop-type tasks such as soldering, cabling, PCB design, using basic test and measurement instruments, and recognizing Electrical and Electronics Engineering devices/equipment/systems. Additionally, they are expected to acquire knowledge, experience, and skills in production processes. The prerequisite for this internship is that students must have taken all their courses up to the end of the 4th semester and must not have failed due to absenteeism.
Group II Internship: This internship aims to provide students with experience in business operations and organization, including company definition, management planning, production, and storage. Additionally, students are expected to work at a company that carries out at least one of the following activities related to Electrical and Electronics Engineering: electromagnetics and microwaves, communication and signal processing, control and automation, circuits and systems, or computing. During this internship, students are expected to gain knowledge, experience, and skills in research and development, product development, project planning, monitoring and control, production techniques, cost analysis, and quality control. The prerequisites for this internship are that students must have taken all their courses up to the end of the 6th semester, must not have failed due to absenteeism, and must have completed the Group I Internship.
