Internships are conducted in accordance with the Internship Directive of the Faculty of Engineering. Accordingly, it is mandatory for students of the PRU Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Department to complete an internship within the framework of the Faculty of Engineering Internship Directive. The purpose of this requirement is to allow students to observe the practical application of the professional knowledge they acquire during their education, participate in practical work, enhance their technical knowledge and skills, engage in teamwork, and improve their communication abilities.

The total internship duration is 60 (sixty) working days, covering the I, II, and III Group internships. Students must complete their internships in an institution operating in a field related to their department, either domestically or abroad.

1st GROUP INTERNSHIP

The objective of this internship is for students to gain experience in pre-production processes in shipbuilding, including material cutting, bending, grinding, welding, and casting. The prerequisite for the 1st Group Internship is the completion of the second semester of study.

Note: If the internship location does not have Casting and Machining processes, Welding and Forming Methods may be preferred. However, practical experience in Casting and Machining must be completed at the same or another workplace during the same period or later.

2nd GROUP INTERNSHIP

This internship aims to provide knowledge, experience, and skills in ship component recognition, assembly techniques, block assembly, preparation of material lists, cost analysis, quality control, project planning, monitoring, and control. The prerequisite for the 2nd Group Internship is the completion of the fourth semester of study and the successful completion of the 1st Group Internship.

3rd GROUP INTERNSHIP

This internship offers a broad working scope and provides students with the opportunity to make a selection. The prerequisite for the 3rd Group Internship is the completion of the sixth semester of study and the successful completion of both the 1st and 2nd Group Internships.
