Double Major Application and Admission Requirements
DOUBLE MAJOR AND MINOR APPLICATION DATES:
Application Dates: September 2 – 6, 2024
Evaluation Dates: September 9 – 11, 2024
Announcement of Results: September 16, 2024
Registration Dates: September 17 – 20, 2024
DOUBLE MAJOR APPLICATION AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Double Major (ÇAP) applications must be submitted to the Student Affairs Office with an application form and transcript within the dates announced in the academic calendar.
A student can apply for a Double Major program at the beginning of the 3rd semester at the earliest and the 5th semester at the latest in their main undergraduate program.
To apply for a Double Major program, the student must have successfully completed all courses in their main undergraduate program up to the application semester, have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.00, and be in the top 20% of their main program in terms of academic success.
If the number of applications exceeds the quota determined by the faculty, priority is given to students with a higher CGPA. In case of equal CGPA, the student’s percentage ranking in their main program is considered.
Applications of students who meet the necessary requirements are forwarded by the Student Affairs Office to the relevant faculty or faculties.
A student cannot be enrolled in more than one Double Major program or both a Double Major and a Minor program at the same time.
DOUBLE MAJOR PROGRAM TUITION FEE:
Students whose applications are accepted must pay an additional fee per credit for the courses they take in the Double Major program, separate from the tuition fee of their registered department.
Students receiving scholarships or discounts in their main program are also entitled to the same benefits in the Double Major program. The scholarship duration extends for two semesters after graduation from the main program.
MINOR APPLICATION AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
A student can apply for a Minor program at the beginning of the 3rd semester at the earliest and the 6th semester at the latest in their undergraduate program.
Minor program applications must be submitted to the Student Affairs Office with an application form and transcript within the announced dates.
To apply for a Minor program, the student must have successfully completed all courses in their undergraduate program up to the application semester and have a minimum CGPA of 2.50 at the time of application.
If the number of applications exceeds the quota determined by the faculty, priority is given to students with a higher CGPA. In case of equal CGPA, the student’s percentage ranking in their main program is considered.
A student cannot be enrolled in more than one Minor program or both a Minor and a Double Major program at the same time.
