About Computer Engineering

Computer engineering is an engineering discipline concerned with the design, development, and management of computer systems and software. This field forms the foundation of modern technology and offers innovative solutions in many areas of life. Computer engineers use scientific and mathematical principles to solve complex problems, follow technological advancements, and develop projects that meet society’s needs.

Today, information and communication technologies, which are used in almost every aspect of life, are rapidly changing, evolving, and becoming more widespread. Accordingly, the profile of the skilled workforce needed by the relevant sectors is also changing, and traditional curricula fail to meet these needs. Our department was established to implement a pioneering and innovative education program aimed at training a workforce equipped to meet the evolving and changing needs of information technologies. At Pîrî Reis University’s Computer Engineering Department, the primary vision is to train qualified engineers and contribute to academic research in this field.

To achieve this goal, courses covering up-to-date information technologies have been carefully prepared by examining the curricula and course contents of Computer Engineering programs both in Turkey and abroad. The updated curriculum has been designed to include the latest developments in the field and the knowledge and skills that graduates will need in their professional careers. The main mission of our department is to train engineers who can develop information systems using contemporary information technologies and scientifically guide these technologies in accordance with human needs and global standards.

We aim to become one of the leading Computer Engineering departments in our country and worldwide in scientific research, projects, and education, with graduates who are in demand at the international level. Our faculty members lead research projects that shape the industry and contribute to scientific studies. In this way, we strive to create new opportunities in technology and innovation and provide solutions to society’s needs.

Our Computer Engineering department also offers students the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and improve their communication skills.
