About Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering academic program is designed in accordance with contemporary programs used worldwide, while also addressing the needs of the shipbuilding and marine engineering sectors. This program, which has a broad application area ranging from energy systems to the automotive industry, biomedical engineering, and aerospace, is one of the most important engineering fields of the modern world.
Our curriculum offers three options: mechanical design, energy systems, and mechatronic systems. These options have extensive industrial applications both in Turkey and globally. As a result, our graduates can find employment abroad, in Turkey, and within industrial enterprises in Istanbul.
The academic program consists of eight semesters over four years and is conducted 100% in English. Theoretical engineering courses are supported by practical applications in advanced laboratories.
Through projects carried out within the four-year academic program, students are prepared for employment after graduation. Additionally, students are required to complete internships at industrial enterprises during summer breaks.
Mechanical engineering courses are taught by faculty members with both industrial and academic experience in their respective fields.
The Mechanical Engineering Department has been providing education at both undergraduate and graduate levels since the 2013-2014 academic year.
